HELEN! HELEN! HELEN! HELEN!.....

FYI I will be the offical blog for my Mom, Helen Ellsworth. I do want those of you who have written notes to her to know that she always reads them. She's gotten really good at surfing the sites and was toying with the idea of having me help her start up her own blog. This morning after sitting for an hour checking up on everyone she stood up, stretched and sighed, "I don't think I want my own blog after all." I'm more than happy to share. So, if it's a posting from Mom the title will start out with a slammer like, "From Helen," or, "From The Old Woman," or some other such rot.

FROM "THE OLD WOMAN..." Okay, I told her I was doing this and she still sits quilting on Diana's pillow shams. I'll catch you up. She spoke in Sacrament Meeting last week on Personal Revelation and did a superb job. She always frets over speaking but always does extremely well. She spoke right after a 6' 4" young man in our ward who introduced himself and announced that yes, he was getting taller and that he was a year older at 17. She introduced herself as my mine and Steven's Mom and a grandmother. I told her later she could have played off of Austin and said that yes, she was shrinking and she had a good 70+ years on him. It floors people when they find out how old she is because she looks so good and is still so spunky and active. I tell people for her because she acts like she doesn't want to say anything but I know it tickles her a little that people think well of her. She is in terrific shape and looks great. Now, the reference to "the old woman" is really an inside joke that I'll share. I called her that one day and all my family turned on me and roundly denounced me. Do you all remember "The Ten Commandments"? There's a scene in which Joshua is saving Yoshabel and the guards ask him who she is to him and he replies, "An old woman." It stuck and Chris still writes to her as such from the mission field. So, it's not meant as disrespect and she is fine with it and even refers to herself as "the old woman."

There, you're caught up. I hope that you'll not shun me in deference to her and I want to still see comments on my posts too. Love you all!

Hi Helen, let me be the first to answer from your blog. Thanks for giving Susan so much TLC during her last uncomfortable days. I appreciate your nice comment on my blog about her, she was amazing all through her life & during her illness. You are such a good sport to let your family call you "OLD WOMAN". My husband tries to do that to me kiddingly but only because he is a little bit younger than I am & turning the big 60 in January I am beginning to feel really old! You look good & sounds like you are keeping very busy.
Stay healthy & keep blogging
Tell Gena that I think she has my blogging address wrong, I tried to go back to my blog through hers & it said only invited bloggers. It is dlgiffin.blogspot.com
Love,
Laurel

oh my Goodness!!! I absolutely LOVE this woman more than life itself. Although EVERYONE did a wonderful job welcoming the kids and I into the family...dear Grandma Helen made me feel right at home and if I had been there all my life...or that something had been missing until I walked through the door. I will always cherish that feeling I received and will hold the most special place in my heart for her!
I just hope to get to see her again SOON. And MEET the rest of the fam...whats up with that???
Love all of you!

How true how true Kami's statement about Grandma is! From the day I met Grandma she has always treated me like I was one of her grandchildren. I can never say enough good things about Grandma Helen! She is an amazing woman. She is one fun spunky lady who would do ANYTHING for ANYONE!
I am thnking this "Old Woman" name must run in the family. Brian ALWAYS refers to me as his "Old Lady" well and he also calls me his "Baby Mamma" this is all done in the utmost fun. But honestly, where does he get these names from? I thought it was all Richard's fault but now I'm blaming Gena. (I'm just playing Gena) Well we love you all!

P.S. Grandma, Brilynn says she loves you more than her luggage! (This is a little inside joke with Grandma and Brilynn)

Aunt Helen, you are amazing. Doug and I were just going "down memory lane" the other night and his sweet memories of great aunts & uncles were priceless. I loved the times you and George would come and visit mom (Lora). I absolutely loved hearing the stories and especially loved the huge bear hugs I would get from George. Welcome to the blog world.

Lori! How on earth did you stumble onto Gena's blog? Needless to say I was thrilled to see your comment. I to miss all the visits we used to have. I can't go to Mesa that I don't feel like driving out Lyndsey Road to Lora's. I miss her so very much. And all of you. Maybe Martha will arrange for us to get together the next time I am there. Please give me your blog address so I can keep in touch. Give Doug a big hug from Aunt Helen. I love you both. Aunt Helen

Hope you by chance check this spot again and find this note.
