Life Can Be Good From a Certain Point of View

I'd like every day feel as if I'm living the picture...

I'm tired but happy... dreams of what can go wrong haunt me like kids walking out on class or not being able to remember how to turn mixed numerals into improper fractions for division but those dreams haven't materialized and I even was able to teach the weighty mathematical concepts of fractions and decimals to a non English speaking sweetie.

Stressing but focused... I can't worry about things while busy. Fearful yet faithful... have a prayer in your heart always and say "yes" to being a Den Mother. My family says they love me and that's the best.

Being appreciated outside of my family is uplifting. Within five days I will have taught choir, drama, algebra, pre-algebra, physical science and fourth grade. I am a Renaissance woman. The best is when the students come in the room and say, "Yea! It's you again!" I like feeling liked. I really don't think too highly of myself I'm just happy that I have a talent I can share.

Opposition in all things. If we were never unhappy we wouldn't fully comprehend the fleeting moments of happiness. More than joy is contentment. I have it good. This will be my mantra as I lead the 8th graders through their rehearsals of "Dracula" tomorrow.

My Darling...You are amazing and are truly being blessed. The Lord is holding you up, I just know it! Have fun being out of the house and getting paid for it!

See this is why I want to grow up to be just like you someday! Just one problem, when do you think I'm going to grow up and do that? I'm 35. Hmmm....Sigh...Well I will just keep on plugging along I suppose.
I'm so glad that you are out there doing what your good at and what you enjoy! Good luck with all those kiddos!
I love you and I appreciate you and your example.
Tell Grandma we love her and miss her tons!!!

OK Gena, I've missed something...are you substitute teaching everyday in different classes, or is this a long term assignment in different classes, or are you a regular teacher who teachers EVERYTHING??? I'm so confused!! I went back to re-read your past posts and I still haven't figured this out...help me. Whatever you're doing, it sounds very fun and interesting(except that whole math thing, not fun, however I did give birth to a math major, that should count for something). I loved what you said about "if we were never unhappy we wouldn't fully comprehend the fleeting moments of happiness." That is sooo true. I'm having a moment of happiness these days, made even more happy because of the long period of sadness and uncertainly that preceded it..I hope it lasts a little longer than a moment but if not, I'm so grateful for it nonetheless. You really are a Renaissance Woman but I don't know about that Den Mother thing...good luck with that!!!

I am a certificated Elementary Education teacher but I can substitute in any grade I want. Somehow I've been caught in a Middle School loop. I LOVE grades 1-6! After my last class (a spastic 8th grade drama group) I'm so happy to be going back to 4th grade tomorrow. I'd love to teach full time again!

I always say, "Yea--it's you again!" when you walk in my door! It was so fun to talk with you today, and you're right--I really do want that chocolate bar.
