Halloween is officially over and I present to you a synopsis of our week:
I substituted the day before and on Halloween in 2nd grade and Middle School ESL classes respectively. I frazzled but was glad to be in the Middle School and not the Elementary school on "the" day.
Allison worked the high school "Trick or Treat Street" in a "Wizard of Oz" themed room. Obviously she was the Scarecrow.
On Halloween the girls went to school as each other; they both have distinctive styles. It sounds a little lame unless you've experienced it. When you know what clothes they wear it can really give you a start to realize the twin you're talking to and looking at is not the twin you thought she was. Everyone at school, teachers included, told them that what they did was creepier than most costumes roaming the halls. It even messed with The Old Woman's head a bit.
We had colored pancakes for dinner; jack o' lanterns, cat's heads and Jackson Pollock designs (I got really tired of designing and cooking). Our ward's Elders were over for a dinner, a huge dessert of Caramel Corn snacking and playing "The Great Dalmuti." I didn't feel like playing the game but Michael told me he'd let me begin the game in the prime role as Great Dalmuti. To have a little fun with it I decreed the Great Dalmuti shall wear the tiara, chunky earrings (non pierced in deference to any men that may win the title for a round) and ropes of Brighton pearls and crystals. The Lesser Dalmuti was granted the privilege of a regal opal brooch and ring ensemble. I didn't have to relinquish my crown the entire evening, much to Elder Caillier's dismay. At the conclusion of the game I allowed him to wear the crown jewels for one brief shining moment, and promised to send a picture to his mother.
Only THREE sets of doorbell ring for Trick or Treat. The my family is really sad we have so much candy left over.
We love you all... I'm going to put away decorations while Steven is, without any prompting, taking advantage of the warm day to wash some windows. Love him!

Bless Steve's boots! I need my windows washed!
Where are the photos of the Parent Trap experience? I wanna see Emily all dolled up!
Gena, I am glad you kept the crown all night...you deserve it! Besides, you know how the Church feels about cross-dressing Elders!
Cross-dressing elders! My my--you never know what to expect at the Faria house! What is that game anyway? It sounds like fun.
I never seem to manage a good Halloween dinner--maybe when the kids are a little older. We only had five groups of trick-or-treaters come to the door, despite the warmest Halloween in memory. Sarah hosted a slumber party with her friends, so the later part of my night was anything but quiet.
What a funny costume for the girls! A trick, for sure.
Send Steve over!
P.S.: I gave your business cards to Sarah's teacher, Mrs. Rhodes, along with a hearty recommendation. She said she would distribute them among the teachers at PVE.
Hey Gena! Just saw the slid show! The girls certainly know eachother better that anyone else does! Look at the way they are standing in the first shot! What a crack-up!
Your hair is LOOOONNNGGG! What are your plans for it? Been looking at any photos? I'll have to Email you a picture of the one I am considering...really considering.
Loves!
Emily and Allison's costumes are hilarious!
Oh Gena, Gena, Gena, you and Marianne are my true inspirations and heros. You both had quite the festivities at your homes! I love the pancakes-too cute. Man can you even imagine what Blake would think of those beauties! I will have to show him, or maybe not, then he'll see how much work I've got at becoming better at this mother thing!
At our house Halloween night it was pretty wild. My kids are lucky we ate anything. They got ommlets and bacon. Someday I'm going to get it together and be like my idols:)

Man do I miss you guys. Your Halloween look like it was a blast. I am sure you love it as much as your kids do huh? now we all get to look forward to Christmas Decorations!
Hi Gena, Your Halloween looks like it was so much fun. Very cute and yummy looking treats. Some people are just so talented! I'm sure Elder Caillier's mother will be thrilled to receive his tiara picture! Try not to be too sad about not very many trick or treaters...we had somewhere near 400 (maybe more), we finally ran out of candy (I had been buying it for weeks) and we had to steal some from Gavin and Savanna to get us through the night. We finally did turn off the lights in the front of the house so Gav and Sav would not have to give up all their treats. Well now we're on to Thanksgiving (easy this year) and then the BIG Christmas decorations come out!! January 1st is my very best day of the year!
