It's a Wonderful Life.

I'm having a calm moment this afternoon which makes personal reflection much easier. One of my favorite things to collect are nativity sets. It's such an easy reminder to me of what the holiday is all about.

Well, Guitar Hero World Tour just started up again. This time Allison is practicing on the drums. "Beat It," Alli. Em has been having a great time of it and is giving all kinds of pointers, as Alli did for her with the Wii Fit (which I will definitely be setting a PIN on to access my 'personal' information, thank you!). Ah, Michael is on the PS2 in the basement (Star Wars Force Unleashed) and Steve and I are going to make bread sticks for a dinner we're invited to tonight. Life is good.

I've added a few pictures and comments in the side bar to share a bit of our day with you. Love to all!

PS. the gingerbread house is a replica of my Mom's childhood farm house... she recognized it immediately which pleased Allison to no end.

The Camino Farias think the gingerbread house is the best ever seen. A gold award to all who created it.

Sheryl and Diane helped me set up my google account so I can finally comment on your blog. I do so enjoy getting it.

What a beautiful gingerbread house! It must have been a lot of fun to make. Can you eat it?

Hi Gena, Lucky you for having a calm moment on Christmas Day! It was hectic here and, as always, I'm glad it's over! I hate it that I'm a Scrooge, I try not to be but I just am. I love your gingerbread house, it looks very professional and now that I know the story behind it, I love it even more. It sounds like you all had a nice Christmas and I'm sure the best part was talking to your son. I wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!

Awww! Charlie is so cute!

The Gingerbread House is gorgeous and very effective...I was a firsthand witness to Mom's tears!! She says you had better not eat it before she gets back to you!

It was a fairly quiet Christmas here too. Mostly grown kids and all. Dinner was great. I just wish it took everyone as long to eat it as it did for me to prepare it!

I want to hear all about Chris! Call me!

Oh my goodness. The first thing that Conner said as he happened to be walking by as I was reading your post was, "Oh my gosh, that looks like Grandma Helen's house when she was a girl." I said how do you know? He said, "because I have the house that she made for me that goes to my town stuff." Sure enough he went and got the canvas house that Grandma made for Conner and Blake about 8 years ago or so and it looks just like it. As I continued reading we were all excited that he reconized it.
You did a beautiful job! Very impressive house!
I'm so glad that you had a wonderful Christmas. We sure love you guys. Thank you for commenting on Brilynn's blog. She has just been thrilled with having her very own blog.
We sure love you all!

Aunt Gena-thanks for your nice comment on my blog.Your gingerbread house is so cool.I think I need some lessons from you.I'm so excited to get to now make my own comments on your posts.
Oh ya-do you have any recent pictures of grandma helen that you can email my mom?I want to add grandma helen onto my blog with my other grandparents but we couldn't find any pitures of grandma by herself and when my mom tried to crop the ones that we have they all looked silly so if you have any of her could you send them to her for me.
Well have a great rest of your holiday.
Love, Brilynn

As I comment, John is playing guitar for "Beat It." I have half a mind to plug in the microphone and go for it!
