Daughter of George and Helen; sister of Sharon, Dean, Richard and Marianne since 1962. Too much love to be expressed! Great slideshow Gena and a wonderful day-by-day of your experiences at camp. Oh how I wish I had done that, you know, for my book!! Your camp looks like it was a serious physical adventure, I can only imagine the moaning and groaning we would have heard. Ours was more of a leadership camp with just SOME limited physical activity. One tradition we had, that I loved, was when each girl turned 16 and became a YL she received a Camp Name. The name was chosen by the other YL's and they tried to capture the girl's personality in the name. The name was presented to her at a very prestigious ceremony (jk). This Camp Name was hers for life. While at camp we all used our camp names, it was fun. To this day, I remember many girls by their camp names only. Anyway, I enjoyed your post, it brought back many memories. I'm glad you're home safe and can finally get some rest.
