Every Cloud Has a White Gold Lining

It's been a month to the day since my last post. I'm getting better! Lots has happened.

We're on the layoff roller coaster, again. Silver linings? I've had a sub job everyday since the layoff and we were able to get some oral surgery done on Steve and the girls before the insurance ran out. Necessary evils! They really didn't want me to show their "chipmunk face" pictures and I, uncharacteristically, complied.

The best thing was today.... MICHAEL PROPOSED MARRIAGE TO SARAH SHAVER AND SHE SAID "YES"!

We all went to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Michael's choice. Diana and Nick Mowes (cousins in crime), Allison and Emily and Steve and I all went with them. Afterward Nick's wonderful parents, Mike and Tami Mowes, had us all over for a BBQ dinner of Beef and Elk steaks and all the good things that go along with it.

Blessings all around. Thanks to the Shavers for raising a sweet and loving daughter. Thanks to Nick and Diana for taking a trip to CO and bringing Michael and Sarah with them. Thanks to Tami and Mike for making the day that much more special. Thanks to our Father in Heaven for showing me some greatness in my life.

Wow! Major congrats to Michael! Mom, dad & I were playing cards (I won – but no gloating, hee hee!!) when he called last night to share his big news and I could hear the excitement in his voice from 5 feet away!! Thanks for posting the wonderful pics. And what better place to get things rolling than the Garden of the Gods. Smart idea, Michael!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

SO excited and happy for you all! I was so happy that Grandma just so happened to be at our house when she got the exciting news. Congratulations! When is the big day? Brian and I sure would like to come (I'm not sure that that is possible but it would be so neat if it could happen.)

Were so happy for all of you!

Love you all,

JoLynn

Congratulations to ALL! What an exciting time. Maybe you could tell us a little more about this romance...like where did they meet? how long have they known each other? when are they getting married?...things like that. Sorry to hear about the layoff, honestly this economy is dreadful, but happy that you are keeping busy with subbing jobs. Keep looking for the silver linings, I know they are there.

Wow--talk about a roller coaster of extremes! Congratulations to Michael and Sarah (great name, btw) and a beautiful ring, at that! That's too funny that the whole family got into the proposal act.

So sorry to hear of Steve's job lay-off. I still get a pit in my stomach whenever I hear of someone losing a job. I will send prayers and positive thoughts your way!

love you!

P.S. It looks like Sarah is engaged to two different young men, which one is the "real" Michael?

Michael had wanted a haircut before the big proposal but they sat on the couch giggling all morning.

YIPHEEE!!! I just love LOVE! Congrats to them both and to all of you! I for one know she is a lucky girl marrying in to this family. Make sure to take her to meet Dick..they don't come any better than him!
